On 17 August 2023, Germany delivered a significant package of military aid to Ukraine. This move underscores Germany's commitment to supporting Ukraine in the face of ongoing challenges. Here's a breakdown of the equipment and supplies that have been delivered. In this package, we can notice 2 IRIS-T SLS and it's the first time that Germany sends this kind of equipment to Ukraine. It already donated to Ukraine 2 IRIS-T SLM but never IRIS-T SLS.

On August 12, 2023, Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) entered into a partnership with the renowned Italian defense company, Leonardo S.p.A, to supply air defense guns to the Indian Army. This partnership comes in response to the request for proposal issued by the Ministry of Defense last October, which seeks 220 air guns and approximately 1.42 lakh rounds of ammunition, with an estimated contract value of around Rs 6,500 crore (more than 72,000,000 euros).

Raytheon Land & Air Defense Systems, Tucson, Arizona, was awarded a $322,500,000 fixed-price-incentive contract to procure Tube-Launched, Optically-Tracked, Wireless-Guided 2B Missiles. Bids were solicited via the internet with one received. Work will be performed in Tucson, Arizona, with an estimated completion date of Sept. 30, 2026. Fiscal 2021 and 2023 missile procurement, Army funds in the amount of $322,500,000 were obligated at the time of the award. Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is the contracting activity.

According to Russian defense sources, on August 16, 2023, Russian defense authorities signed a state contract with the Burevestnik Central Research Institute. This contract involves the production and supply of the 2S43 Malva 152mm 8x8 self-propelled howitzer to multiple military units, with indications pointing to its primary deployment within artillery brigades, including the Airborne Forces.

At the Army 2023 Defense Forum held near Kubinka, Russia, prominent Iranian defense organizations, including the Aerospace Industries Organization (AIO), Defense Industry Organization (DIO), Marine Industries Organization (MIO), and Industry and Engineering Inspection (IEI), all operating under the umbrella of Iran's Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics (MODAFL), are showcasing their latest advancements in military and defense technologies. Among the featured innovations is the Ababil OP ballistic missile, as reported by Yusuf Cetiner in Overt Defense.

On August 15, 2023, during the Army 2023 international military-technical forum held in the Moscow region, Dmitry Shugaev, the head of the Russian Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation, announced that the delivery of S-400 air defense systems and the corresponding equipment to India will proceed as scheduled. He stated that the production of the S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile systems is progressing as planned and that the delivery of equipment for the S-400 Triumph system is expected to be completed within the agreed timeframe.

Rostec has announced the commencement of serial production for the 2S25M Sprut-SDM1, a new amphibious light tank equipped with a 125mm smoothbore gun. This announcement was made during the Army-2023 event after successful state tests. The vehicle represents a progression from the earlier 2S25 Sprut-SD 125mm self-propelled gun and is built upon the chassis of the BMD-4M armored infantry fighting vehicle.

Moscow, Russia, August 16, 2023 - At the Military Technical Forum "Army-2023" held in Patriot Park near Moscow from August 14 to 20, 2023, the renowned Russian defense company, Almaz-Antey, showcased its latest generation of artillery reconnaissance vehicle, the PRP-5. This state-of-the-art tracked armored vehicle had previously made its debut during the Victory parades in Tula on May 9, 2022, marking the city where it is manufactured.

Roselectronics holdings and High-Precision Complexes of the Rostec State Corporation, together with Rosoboronexport, present a system of counter-battery warfare at the Army-2023 forum. It enables to detect enemy artillery positions at a distance of up to 38 km, determine their exact coordinates, and then, using automated fire control tools, enable efficient counter-battery fire in the shortest possible time.

On August 14, the U.S. Defense Department announced an additional security assistance package valued at up to $200 million to help Ukraine counter Russia's ongoing war of aggression. As commented by Joseph Clark, U.S. DoD News, the package includes critical munitions for U.S.-provided Patriot air defense systems and High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems, among other items. The items are being provisioned as part of the $6.2 billion in presidential drawdown authority restored in June following a reevaluation of the total value of items already committed to Ukraine.

On August 11, 2023, according to a post on the Far-Maroc forum's Facebook page, it was reported that Morocco had received the initial shipments of the Barak MX air defense missile system, manufactured by Israel. This Israeli delivery stems from a $500 million arms contract signed by both countries in  2022, as announced by the Army Recognition editorial team on December 30, 2022.

At the Army-2023 event, Russia unveils its latest 8x8 self-propelled anti-aircraft gun (SPAAG) known as the ZAK-23E Short-Range Air Defense System (SHORAD). This system includes two ZU-23 23mm automatic cannons mounted on the BTR-82A armored personnel carrier. Collaboratively developed by JSC Tulamashzavod and JSC Elins Research and Development Center, it is being presented as a prototype, with the main purpose of protecting both static military units and moving convoys.

On August 14, 2023, the Norwegian defense and aerospace company, Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace (KONGSBERG), secured a major contract with the International Fund for Ukraine for the delivery of advanced Unmanned Aerial Countermeasures Systems (C-UAS) to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The systems, valued at 65 million euros, are designed to counter a wide range of drone threats and will be a crucial addition to Ukraine's defense capabilities.

European High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) Summit was a Vth U.S. Army Corps event hosted in Grafenwohr (Germany) on August 1-3. This initiative aimed to discuss with NATO countries the utilization, operation, and maintenance of the M142 HIMARS rocket launcher mounted on a 6x6 medium tactical vehicle. Spc. On August 14, 2023, the Polish Ministry of Defense announced through its Twitter account its commitment to enhance its military capabilities by acquiring hundreds of Raycolt KIA 4X4 Light Tactical Vehicles (KLTV). As outlined by the military authorities, a contract for the supply of nearly 400 such vehicles has been officially approved. This acquisition, valued at approximately $300 million, is planned to take place between 2024 and 2030.
