Official trials, that include live firing, are in progress with prototypes of the launching vehicle 9P140MB and the transporter-loader vehicle 9T452MB. These prototypes represent an upgraded version of the Uragan-M MLRS. They have been created in two years by the Belarusian company OAO Volatavto. For the chassis, the company has replaced the outdated Zil-135LM truck with a MAZ-6317. The upgraded Uragan MLRS has been fitted with modern communications and automation solutions.

The developers of this upgraded MLRS are carrying the tests with personnel of an artillery squadron of the 51st Guards Artillery Brigade.
