In March 2021, soldiers from Panzer Brigade 12, supported by soldiers from Mountain Infantry Brigade 23 and other units, will be relocated to Mali for six months. In the north of the West African country, the soldiers will provide the contingent for the UNUnited Nations mission MINUSMA, the United Nations' multidimensional integrated stabilization mission in Mali. Kharkiv Design Bureau of Mechanical Engineering has confirmed its plans to create a modernized version of the T-64 tank as part of the Crab program. According to the channel "Ukraine 24", the work is planned to be completed by the end of 2021. The subject had already been announced by Army Recognition on February 11, 2019.

The Arctic divisions of the Russian army will soon receive a special version of the Tornado-G multiple launch rocket system (MLRS). The Russian defense industry has created a version of the Tornado-G MLRS on the tracked chassis of the Vityaz series two-link all-terrain vehicles following the example of the already created Arctic air defense systems Tor-M2DT and Pantsir-SA. Both systems are built on the chassis of a two-link tracked DT-30PM.

On December 16, 2020, Arquus delivered the 2,000th VT4 to the French defense procurement agency, the DGA. U.S. Army Alaska began a new annual combat training exercise Monday February 8 on ranges around Fort Greely, KTOO reports on the ground of U.S. Army information released on its website. The 11-day training exercise called Arctic Warrior mainly involves the 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team Airborne out of Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson. It’ll be supported by U.S. Air Force personnel and aircraft based at JBER, and units from Fort Wainwright and the Canadian Air Force.

The Kalashnikov Group is completing the design of the latest firearms, CEO Dmitry Tarasov told RBC. Trials of the Lebedev PL (previously PL-15) full-size pistol will be completed this year to replace Makarov PM. PL is currently in test operation. It was designed for law enforcers and the Defense Ministry. PL will be tested in several modifications.

Patria has successfully fulfilled its offset and industrial participation obligations related to Patria AMV 8x8 delivery programmes in various countries. The latest took place in Croatia where Patria´s offset performance was approved by the Croatian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development in December 2020. Fulfilling all obligations completely on schedule proves once again that Patria carries out its duties as agreed.

The U.S. State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA) of UHF SATCOM Radio Systems and related equipment for an estimated cost of $65 million. On February 5, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale.

U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to the East Africa Response Force (EARF) in support of the Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA) and French soldiers assigned to the 5th Overseas Intermarines Regiment (RIAOM, Régiment InterArmes d’Outre-Mer) participated in a live-fire joint artillery training event at the Djiboutian Range Complex on February 2, 2021. UAS Drone announced (reported by UAS Vision) that its wholly owned Israeli subsidiary, Duke Airborne Systems, and Elbit Systems Land signed a Collaboration Agreement for global marketing and sales, and the production and further development of Duke’s developed advanced robotic system mounted on an UAS armed with lightweight firearms, or TIKAD.

According to the Azerbaijani ministry of Defense, on the instructions given by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, activities in the improvement of logistic support of the Engineering Troops of the Azerbaijan Army, acceleration of mine-clearance operations and strengthening of security measures are being continued.
