Russian special forces of Southern Military District use combat module Arbalet-DM against drones


According to a press release of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Special forces of the Southern Military District in the Kuban (Krasnodar Territory) used the newest remotely-controlled combat module Arbalet-DM based on the Tigr-M armored vehicle in the fight against drones of a “conditional enemy”.

Special forces groups worked out the standards for operating standard military equipment to the area of a combat training mission, detecting an air target, conducting aimed fire at a distance of up to 1,500 meters with a change of firing position.

In accordance with the decision of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, on July 17, 2020, a sudden comprehensive check of combat readiness began for the troops of the Southern Military District. Associations, formations and military units of the district are involved in its activities.

The main goal of the process is to check the readiness of subunits to carry out tasks as intended, as well as to assess the level of training of personnel, technical readiness and the manning of formations and military units with weapons and military equipment.
