Hanwha Defense Australia (HDA) has been chosen by the Australian federal government as the preferred tenderer to supply 129 AS21 Redback infantry fighting vehicles to the Australian Army. The decision was reported by Peter Roberts on aumanufacturing.com.au. The new vehicles will be manufactured in Australia at Hanwha's newly constructed facilities located at Avalon Airport in Geelong, Victoria.

On July 7, 2023, during a conference on industrial defense cooperation between Romania and South Korea, General Teodor Incicaș, the head of the Romanian Directorate General for Armaments, made a significant announcement.
