The International Defense Exhibition (IDEF) 2023, currently being held in Istanbul, Turkey, has become the launching ground for FNSS's latest innovation - the Pars Scout 8x8 Special Purpose Vehicle. As the sole selected 8x8 wheeled armored vehicle by the Turkish Armed Forces, the Pars Scout family is undoubtedly a center of attention on the FNSS stand.

ISTANBUL, TURKEY - July 27, 2023 - At the International Defense Exhibition (IDEF) 2023, Turkish defense company FNSS unveiled for the first time the KAPLAN motorized vehicle featuring hybrid powerpack technology and the new PARS SCOUT 8x8 armored vehicle. This innovation is a significant leap forward in the development and adaptation of next-generation technologies for armored combat vehicles.

Hanwha Defense Australia (HDA) has been chosen by the Australian federal government as the preferred tenderer to supply 129 AS21 Redback infantry fighting vehicles to the Australian Army. The decision was reported by Peter Roberts on aumanufacturing.com.au. The new vehicles will be manufactured in Australia at Hanwha's newly constructed facilities located at Avalon Airport in Geelong, Victoria.

Istanbul, Turkey, July 26, 2023 - The International Defense Exhibition (IDEF) 2023, currently being held in Istanbul, Turkey, has become the launching ground for new generation Active Protection Systems (APSs) developed by Turkish defense giant, ASELSAN. In response to the escalating threat of Rocket-Propelled Grenades (RPGs) and Anti-Tank Guided Missiles (ATGMs) against main battle tanks, ASELSAN has unveiled the PULAT and AKKOR APSs.

According to an article published by the U.S. Naval Institute on July 25, 2023, the US Marine Corps has publicly disclosed its most recent unmanned 4x4 launcher vehicle, designated as the Long Range Fires Launcher (LRFL), at the core of the new ground-based Tomahawk cruise missile unit. The LRFL was unveiled during the official ceremony commemorating the establishment of Battery A, 11th Marines, at Camp Pendleton in California on July 21, 2023.

Since HAVELSAN is a subsidiary of the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation (TAFF), it is naturally among the prominent hosts of the IDEF fairs. For 30 years, the company has been taking its place at IDEF fairs with increasing excitement and impact. In 2021, very fruitful meetings were held at its booth with delegations led by high-level decision-makers, especially Ministers of Defence, Deputy Ministers, and Force Commanders from 74 countries. In addition, Ambassadors, Military Attachés, and representatives of global companies also visited HAVELSAN’s booth.

On July 25, the U.S. Department of Defense (U.S. DoD) announced additional security assistance to meet Ukraine's critical security and defense needs. This authorization is the Biden Administration's forty-third drawdown of equipment from DoD inventories for Ukraine since August 2021 as the U.S. government has continuously provided Ukraine with the weapons and equipment it needs for the battlefield.

On July 14, 2023, the Ukrainian Minister of Defense relayed a tweet from the Norwegian Minister of Defense and acting Danish Defense Minister, Troels Lund Poulsen, announcing the delivery of six mine-scanning Noa Acecor drones to Ukraine as part of a significant aid package worth over one billion euros. This package had previously been mentioned by the Army Recognition editorial team on May 3, 2023. The Danish support to Ukraine includes both military aid, such as vehicles and demining equipment, as well as civilian aid.

The 1st Theater Sustainment Command (TSC), a subordinate command of U.S. Army Central, demonstrated three autonomous vehicles at the Udari Range Complex near Camp Buehring, Kuwait, on 25 July, 2023. This is the first time these ground-breaking systems were publicly displayed in the U.S. Central Command region. Capt. Richard Moore, U.S. Army Central, reports.

On July 7, 2023, during a conference on industrial defense cooperation between Romania and South Korea, General Teodor Incicaș, the head of the Romanian Directorate General for Armaments, made a significant announcement. He revealed Romania's intention to further advance its military modernization by acquiring approximately 300 new combat tanks. This ambition comes in addition to the previously planned purchase of 54 modernized M1A2 Abrams tanks from the United States, worth around one billion euros, which was approved by the Romanian Parliament in May. Initially intended to equip a single battalion, Bucharest now aims to form no less than five tank battalions, showcasing Romania's determination to bolster its military strength with a robust and modern force.

According to a report in Global Times by Liu Xuanzun, the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) recently conducted a cross-sea troop transport exercise using a large ferry ship. This exercise demonstrated the ship's potential significance in large-scale amphibious landing missions and has drawn attention from foreign media in connection to the Taiwan question.
