British private company to deliver Pinzgauer Vector PPV 6x6 armored vehicles to Ukraine

According to information published on the "Kyiv Post" Twitter account on June 7, 2022, a British private company would have delivered Pinzgauer Vector PPV (Protected Patrol Vehicle) 6x6 vehicles to Ukraine.  The Vector is an armored version of the Pinzgauer 718 light tactical truck.

After the Belgian private Company FTS that has delivered M109A4BE 155mm tracked self-propelled howitzers to Ukraine, it is now the turn of a private British company to deliver armored vehicles to Ukraine.

The Pinzgauer Vector was in service with the British Army and was designed and manufactured by the company BAE Systems to offer a new Protected Patrol Vehicle (PPV) for the UK Ministry of Defence offering greater protection, mobility, and payload than the Land Rover 4x4 'Snatch' PPV deployed by the British Army.

The Pinzgauer Vector was developed and placed in quantity production in less than nine months under a fast track contract placed by the then Defense Procurement Agency (DPA) to meet an Urgent Operational Requirement (UOR).

The Vector PPV is based on the Pinzgauer (6 × 6) chassis which has been fitted with a new armored body designed by BAE Systems Land Systems. The armored floor offers greater blast and rollover protection and the body has been fitted with a reflective cover to assist with thermal management.

The Pinzgauer Vector design is similar to a light truck with a crew cabin at the front and a troops compartment at the rear which is able to accommodate four soldiers who can rapidly enter and leave the vehicle via two doors in the rear of the vehicle. Each of these doors is provided with a vision block to provide observation over the rear of the vehicle. There are also two large hatches in the roof which will allow two of the crew to have a good all-around observation.

The Pinzgauer Vector is powered by a Diesel engine developing 10p hp. It can run at a maximum road speed of 105 km/h with a maximum cruising range of 700 km. The vehicle has a weight of 4,400 kg with a maximum payload of 1,600 kg.
