During the DSEI 2023 exhibition, Teledyne FLIR Defense, a subsidiary of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated, is unveiling an advanced technology concept at this year's DSEI conference in London. This concept introduces the Black Recon Vehicle Reconnaissance System (VRS), aiming to facilitate autonomous launch and recovery of small drones from military vehicles, providing covert situational awareness without personnel leaving their vehicles.

Israeli company Rafael announces that Pearson Engineering will play a significant role in delivering the Samson 30mm Remote Weapon Station (RWS). Initially aimed at UK opportunities, the collaboration launched at DSEI 2023 will see critical knowledge and skills transferred to the Newcastle-based team. This strategic development supports current thinking around Boxer’s role on the battlefield as the foundation of a dispersed medium force.

At the DSEI 2023 expo, Paramount is highlighting its own loitering munition: the N-Raven. A recent report reveals a substantial increase in the loitering munitions market, showing a projected growth rate of 525% between 2020 and 2024. This surge is attributed to various global conflicts, notably the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian conflict. The report estimates that annual spending on loitering munitions will exceed $600 million in the coming years.

Modernizing armed forces remains a constant priority for many nations across the globe, and the United Kingdom is no exception. As part of the UK government's Land Industrial Strategy (LIS), the British Army is working to streamline its fleet of land mobility platforms. Babcock International Group, a British defense and engineering services provider, has announced a strategic Enterprise Agreement (EA) with Palantir Technologies UK at DSEI 2023 to enhance its digital defense capabilities. At DSEI 2023, the UAE company Paramount announced the production of its 6x6 Infantry Combat Vehicle (ICV), the Mbombe 6, in response to growing global demand, especially with Latin American and Southern African Development Community (SADEC) national defense forces placing orders. Paramount confirmed the production of over 20 Mbombe 6 next-generation ICVs with deliveries already underway.

The European Union (EU) has granted approval for the second phase of the project, known as European Future Highly Mobile Augmented Armoured Systems (FAMOUS). The project has secured approximately €95 million in funding from the European Defence Fund (EDF).

During the DSEI 2023 exhibition, technology company Marss introduced its latest portable anti-drone system, the Interceptor-SR (Short Range). This new system is designed to offer enhanced protection against drones for both vehicles and personnel.

Teledyne FLIR announced the expansion of its Neutrino Ground ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) series at DSEI 2023. The company, a subsidiary of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated, has added two new mid-wave infrared (MWIR) imaging solutions ) to the series: the Neutrino Ground ISR 300 and the Ground ISR 420. These products are designed for various applications, including perimeter surveillance, border security, and counter-UAS (unmanned aerial systems) operations.

During the DSEI 2023 exhibition in London, Leonardo secured a contract with the Danish Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation (DALO) to equip 309 vehicles of the Royal Danish Army with advanced camera systems. The contract, valued at over £10 million (approximately €11.6 million), will enhance the capabilities of the Piranha V 8x8 Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) and CAESAR 8x8 self-propelled howitzer.

On September 13, 2023, Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land (RBSL) granted a subcontract worth £6 million to Quantic Thistle, a specialized UK-based company known for its expertise in sensor technology. This collaboration holds a pivotal role in improving the capabilities of the upgraded Challenger 3 Main Battle Tank (MBT).
