Barhat Dynamic's Akash is a potent supersonic mobile multi-directional, multi-target point, area air defence system that can simultaneously engage multiple air targets using sophisticated multi-function phased array radars. The Indian air force version of the Rajendra radar is capable of tracking 64 targets within a range of 60km in range, azimuth and height. The Indian army variation of the Akash will use a Rajendra radar which can track 40 targets in range and azimuth with up to 100km in tracking range. In addition the radar can guide eight missiles towards four targets at the same time.

The missile system can target aircraft upto 30 km away, at altitudes upto 18,000 metres. It has the capability to neutralise aerial targets like fighter jets, cruise missiles and air-to-surface missiles.
