DSEI 2015: AmSafe Bridport to offer Tarian RPG armour system on NIMR's range of military vehicles
AmSafe Bridport Ltd, leaders in designing and manufacturing engineered textile solutions for the safety and securement needs of the global aerospace and defence markets, and NIMR Automotive LLC, a military vehicle manufacturer based in Abu Dhabi, UAE and a member of the Emirates Defence Industries Company (EDIC); today announced the signing of a Cooperation Agreement to offer AmSafe Bridport’s Tarian® RPG Armour System on NIMR’s range of military vehicles.

The Agreement outlines plans for both companies to collaborate with the aim of NIMR offering AmSafe’s RPG protection as an option on its vehicles and to market Tarian in territories where they already have a strong presence. This builds on the relationship established at the IDEX Exhibition in February this year, where Tarian was integrated and displayed on NIMR’s 6x6 Armoured Personnel Carrier.

Tarian technology has been developed in response to requirements from military users for a lightweight, higher performance and more robust alternative to traditional, heavy, metal bar or slat armour RPG protection systems. The core element of the Tarian RPG defeat mechanism is an extremely strong textile net manufactured from high-tenacity fibres. Tarian nets are attached to vehicles using innovative flexible mounts that enable the system to withstand harsh vehicle operating conditions without sustaining damage.

NIMR vehicles are in service with Armed Forces across the MENA region and have a reputation for versatility, ruggedness and performance. With a complete in-house design capability and modern production facilities, NIMR produces a range of 4x4 and 6x6 modular vehicles that provide tactical and utility capabilities for a wide range of mission requirements.
