DSEi 2017: Extreme Cases developing new lightweight shock proof backpack


Blackned, a leading designer and operator of deployable networks in the military market, asked the Extreme Team to develop a lightweight shock proof backpack, announced Extreme Cases, which is exhibiting for the first time at the ExCEL expo center.

The unit is a portable LTE-based Network for up to 400 first responders and other users during emergencies where there is no existing coverage or coverage has been lost. Deployed in the most extreme conditions its key that the backpack offers physical and environmental protection for this mission critical equipment.

Timo Haas Managing Director of blackned GmbH said: ‘ We have worked with Extreme Cases before on a deployable network program for the German armed forces. Extreme Cases is a member of the EDGE UK program, A state-of-the-art facility located at General Dynamics UK’s site in South Wales. The facility encourages close collaboration between partners to enable the rapid deployment of best-of-breed science and technology innovations into fieldable technologies and demonstrators. The Smartbeam was developed with General Dynamics and is a ruggedised emergency planning system.
