BAE Systems presents the first serial production of Terrier combat engineer vehicle at DVD 2012. | |||
At
DVD 2012 Defence Vehicle Dynamics exhibition, BAE Systems presents the
first serial production of its combat engineer vehicle, the Terrier which
is now in service with the British Army. TERRIER is an agile, capable
and air-transportable manoeuvre support vehicle with a wide variety of
early entry, combat support and post-conflict roles. These include obstacle
and mine clearance, route opening and maintenance, digging-in equipment
and troops, excavation of anti-tank ditches and general engineer tasks. |

BAE Systems also
announced that the French army had show interest for this type of vehicle.
The Terrier vehicle was completely designed and built by BAE Systems
to meet the new needs of engineer vehicle multirole mobile platform
for the British Army. Its capabilities range from providing mobility assistance for supported units to delivering counter-mobility, survivability and general engineering tasks. TERRIER® is a compact 32 tonne armoured platform with exceptional mobility. It provides speeds of up to 70km/h alongside outstanding off-road performance, wading capability and air transportability in A400M. |
