Eurosatory 2008 attracted 1,000 exhibitors and close to 75,000 visitors.
The Thales stand proved extremely popular, with visits from many political and industry decision-makers, over 150 official delegations from around the world and numerous journalists from the international media.

This year again, a wealth of innovations will be on show in the Thales display

 
The display area is in five sections:
BATTLEGROUPS
Thales is a major partner to armed forces transformation programmes.
The company has conducted many UOR programmes (urgent operational requirements) since 2008, most to support current operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.

On show in the central part of the display area:
- Hawkei vehicle (new light protected vehicle) with integrated electronics optimised for information exchange.
- Future soldier systems as supplied for the FIST programme in the UK (Future Integrated Soldier Technology) and for programmes in Benelux and Norway.
 
FORCE AND HOMELAND PROTECTION
In a constantly evolving environment, Thales offers the right protection capabilities: tailored solutions for air protection and border surveillance as well as solutions to detect and identify CBRN threats (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear). Thales also provides solutions to protect units in the field.

Solutions on display:
- Border surveillance: MRATRAC transportable radio network.
- Detection and surveillance: Spy Arrow unmanned observation plane, Catherine and Sophie thermal imaging cameras, LYNX radar, new lightweight surveillance radar, unveiled for the first time at Eurosatory 2010.

 
COMMAND & INFORMATION MANAGEMENT
Thales is a major player in C4ISR system integration (command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance) and delivers support solutions for the battlespace.

- Comm@nder Army and Comm@nder Joint: command and control solutions for land and joint forces.
- GeoMaker: modular geospatial information solution.
- Watchkeeper: tactical ISTAR UAV.

 
SUPPORT
Thales develops strategic solutions for long-range combat in both dimensions: ground-to-ground and air-to-ground.
