Water transportation takes a step forward with the unveiling today of a new 10,000 litre water container from GOFA Gocher Fahrzeugbau GmbH, a Chart Industries, Inc. company, on outside stand number E240 during Eurosatory 2018. The company has an inside stand in Hall 6 at HG650.

The newly developed 20 ft Transport Optimised Water container, designed by GOFA, employs commercial-off-the-shelf pumps and generators to reduce the weight. In addition, it utilises composite materials, which are lighter weight, do not absorb water and are easy to repair or replace.

Based on standard ISO frame dimensions which makes it easy to be transported throughout both the civil and military supply chains, the unit is also fitted with a hook arm enabling it to be carried by DROPS/PLS fitted vehicles.

"We have taken the historical design of a military water transport container and looked at all the design elements based on our decades of experience in both military and industrial individualised mobile tank equipment," said Alexander Schramm, Managing Director of GOFA. "During the process we looked hard at where we could reduce weight, where COTS solutions could increase performance and where modern materials could provide the user with an improved solution."

"The system we have on display today fully complies with all the intermodal transport regulations and we believe meets the users requirements," added Mr Schramm.

The Water Transport Container is specifically designed for use throughout the Intermodal transport system with a height of 1.727m and has been designed to operate in temperatures from -30°C to +50°C.
