ExpoDefensa 2019: OTOKAR from Turkey offers transfer of technology to produce armored vehicles in Latin America


Turkish Company Otokar promotes its full range of armored vehicle and offers transfer of technology and local manufacturing business models for land system requirements of its Latin-America customers at Expodefensa 2019, the International Defense and Security Exhibition that takes place in Bogota, Colombia.

In addition to promoting its full range of armored vehicles, Turkish Company Otokar provides information about its flexible business model, which incorporates technology transfer and the local-made production of armored vehicles.

Serdar Görgüç, Otokar General Manager said, "We have been able to gain significant experience about responding to the needs and expectations of the Latin American market through the military vehicles currently serving here. In addition to promoting our wide product range during the exhibition, we will also look for opportunities to establish industrial cooperation supporting a stronger presence in the region. For many years, the Turkish Company Otokar developed, designed, and manufactured different types of wheeled including 4x4 URAL, COBRA, COBRA II, KAYA II, ISV, ARMA 6x6 and ARMA 8x8, as well as tracked vehicles including the Tulpar family. The TULPAR is designed as a multi-purpose tracked armored vehicle platform offering a high level of ballistic and mine protection.

The Tulpar IFV (Infantry Fighting Vehicle) can offer superior firepower to support new-generation main battle tanks in the battlefield and also for providing fire support for infantry.

With the expansion of its vehicle family, Otokar turned its focus on turret and weapon system developments. With almost 30 years of knowledge and expertise in turret systems design and integration, Otokar developed MIZRAK, BOZOK, BASOK, UCOK and KESKIN remote-controlled turrets and weapon systems ranging from 7.62 mm to 30 mm. With its high-performance and high-tech turret systems, Otokar aims to strengthen its platforms and gain a competitive advantage in the global markets.
