BAE Systems new order for U.S. Bradley Infantry armoured fighting vehicle Survivability Seats
 

BAE Systems has received a $10.8 million award from SSI Technology, Inc. to provide Advanced Survivability Seats for Bradley Fighting Vehicles used by the U.S. Army. The specially designed seats – called Survivor Post Mount 1000 and Survivor Modular Troop 3000 – include an energy-absorbing technology to protect soldiers and other warfighters.

Kenya has acquired eight Russian made BRDM-3 reconnaissance vehicles and three helicopter gunships. The reconnaissance vehicles were acquired from Russia’s top arms company Rosoboronexport after Kenya sought to purchase 88 of these vehicles for a total cost of $105.6 million in August 2011.

Israel successfull test of the Arrow anti-ballistic missile defense system
 

As part of a long term combined Israel-U.S. project for anti-missile technology, Defense Ministry’s Administration for the Development of Weapons and Technological Infrastructure along with the IAF and the American missile defense agency, successfully tested main components of the ‘Arrow’ system on Friday,February 10, 2012. The test was held at an IAF base in central Israel.

Activists said the army was firing rockets and mortar rounds to subdue opposition districts on Wednesday, February 8, 2012, as tanks entered the Inshaat neighbourhood and moved closer to Bab Amr.

Russia's Arsenal plant has developed a modular pistol with a new lock mechanism. The plant's director Dmitriy Streshinskiy told Izvestiya that by using a removable barrel the selfsame pistol can turn into a gun of four different calibers, while an extended barrel turns the "Strayk" into a carbine capable of aimed fire at 200 meters. However, at the Central Research Institute of Precision Machine Building, which certifies firearms, they say that they are not yet familiar with this development.
