KOMONDOR MRAP 4x4 personnel carrier from Hungarian Company Respirator at IAV 2013.

At IAV International Armoured Vehicles 2013, the Hungarian Company Respirator presents its new 4x4 armoured vehicle in the category of MRAP (Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected), the KOMONDOR. Development of the KOMONDOR armoured vehicle started in 2010, and only after two years, Respirator is ready to produce the vehicle for one or hundred units.

     
At IAV International Armoured Vehicles 2013, the Hungarian Company Respirator presents its new 4x4 armoured vehicle in the category of MRAP (Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected), the KOMONDOR. Development of the KOMONDOR armoured vehicle started in 2010, and only after two years, Respirator is ready to produce the vehicle for one or hundred units.
The KOMONDOR is new personnel carrier in the category of MRAP designed and manufactured in Hungary.
     

Having entered into automotive industry in 2010, Respirator Company has developed a Light Armoured Vehicle Family, within that the RDO-3221 KOMONDOR light armoured base vehicle, equipped with overpressure and filtration system, modular add-on armour, all-wheel drive, flexible choice of, drivetrain and layout, available on request in small series.

The KOMONDOR is available in 4x4 and 6x6 versions, and all the main components of the vehicle are manufactured in Hungary except for the engine and transmission.

The monocoque body of KOMONDOR provides both ballistic and mine protection. Ballistic protection is to NATO STANAG 4569 Ed.1, the base steel armour and ballistic glass windows can be supplemented by appliquè metallic and/or composite armour packages which are stated to provide protection from small arms to medium calibre weapon fire (exact level undisclosed).

Mine protection is to NATO STANAG 4569 Ed.1, providing level 3 (3a and 3b) protection.

The KOMONDOR can be armed with a ring mount or remotely weapon station mounted on the roof which can be armed with a machine gun up to 14.5 mm caliber.

The KOMONDOR can be equipped in option with a wide range of equipment as
Intercom system, overpressure system (OPS), air conditioning system (ACS), automatic fire fighting system (AFF), central tyre inflation system (CTIS), run flat tyre, inside monitor camera system, outside day/night observation camera system for monitoring vehicle surroundings and support sternway.
