MEERKAT a new light multi-purpose CBRN vehicle from NBC-Sys at defence exhibition IDEB 2012.
At the International Defence Exhibition of Bratislava, IDEB 2012, the French Company NBC-Sys presents the MEERKAT, a new multi-purpose NRBC system with decontamination equipment mounted at the rear of a Polaris 6x6 vehicle. From design to manufacturing, through to customer support, NBC-Sys – subsidiary of NEXTER GROUP - is a leading expert in various technologies for protection against Nuclear, Radiological, Biological or Chemical threats (CBRN).

The MEERKAT is a new NRBC support solution for armed and security forces which can be used in the context of peacekeeping and combat operations in urban areas. Today armed forces are only equipped with heavy equipment and vehicle to perform large-scale operations, but not light mobility and rapid response vehicle.

With the MEERKAT the French company NBC-Sys provides a complete decontamination solution able to respond quickly against localized chemical attack or CBRN terrorism threats in urban or industrial areas

The rear side of the MEERKAT vehicle is equipped with a full CBRN decontamination system able to decontaminate one vehicle or 5 to 6 people in complete autonomy. The other advantage of the MEERKAT is that the CBRN decontamination module can be easily dismounted to use the vehicle for other missions, such as personnel or equipment carrier, ambulance etc.

The MEERKAT as a loading capacity of 450 kg, and a towing hook is fitted at the rear of the vehicle capable to tow a load of 650 kg.The front of the vehicle of the MEERKAT is equipped with lights systems to perform missions during the night and the bottom part is fitted with equipment to decontaminate small ground area. Easy to use, to maintain and quickly to be deployed, all the decontamination operations can be perform by only one man.
