The edition 2021 of IDEF, the International Defence Industry Fair & Exhibition is not canceled but postponed due to the COVID-19 crisis and will be held from 17 to 20 August 2021, in Istanbul, Turkey.

The 15th IDEF International Defence Industry Fair, IDEF 2021, a world brand of Turkey and placed among the world's leading fairs, will be organized between 17 - 20 August 2021 in İstanbul, under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey, and hosted by the Ministry of National Defence.

Under the management and responsibility of the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation, IDEF is a prestigious platform where high-tech products are introduced, face-to-face meetings are planned and carried out between the official delegations and the participating companies, and important agreements are signed providing a base to the development of international cooperation in the field of the defense industry.

IDEF 2021 will also contribute to regional and global peace through networks to be established between official delegations and representatives of domestic and foreign companies.

The International Defense Industry Fair and Exhibition IDEF, which is one of the 5 biggest defense industry fairs in the world and where Turkish defense industry products are showcased, received a passing grade in 2019 from visitors and exhibitors. At the edition 2019 of IDEF, the opening was made by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, 151 delegations and 587 delegation members from 70 countries and 3 international organizations were hosted. The fair was attended by 15 ministers, 13 chiefs of general staff, 15 deputy ministers, 4 chiefs of staff, 6 force commanders and 13 undersecretaries, and many civilian and military procurement authorities.

IDEF 2021 will host more than 1,000 companies and company representatives from 53 countries. This event is also an opportunity to create new commercial connections thanks to meetings between local and foreign exhibitors and delegations. The fair will attract great attention of visitors with more than 76,000 professionals from 96 countries. Domestic and foreign defense industry products will be exhibited in an area of 120 thousand square meters and followed by 396 press members from 26 countries.
