IDET 2019: SVOS will deliver 4 Perun Light Strike Vehicle to Czech army Special Forces


The Czech Company SVOS will deliver four Perun Light Strike open-top vehicle to Special Forces of the Czech Army. Currently, the latest version of the Perun in Special Forces configuration will perform some military trial tests before the final delivery to the Czech Army.

The project of the Perun was started four years ago and during the edition 2017 of IDET, the Czech Company has presented the first production vehicle of the Perun that will be delivered to the Czech Special Forces in the next few months.

The Perun was fully designed and developed by the Czech Company SVOS to offer a new 4x4 light tactical vehicle which can be configured to perform a wide range of missions.

The latest version of the Perun was tailored according to the new requirements of the Czech Army Special Forces, the latest version of the Perun Special Forces showed at IDET 2019 has a new armor to increase protection against ballistic and mine threats. The vehicle offers firepower of 360° that includes a ring mount weapon station mounted on the top of the architecture armed with a 12.7mm heavy machine. Each side of the vehicle is fitted with swivel weapon stations that can be armed with a 7.62mm machine gun.

The PERUN Special Forces can carry a total of 6 military personnel, with driver and commander at the front, three people in the middle and there is one more seat at the rear.

The Peru Special Forces is motorized with a 6Y 106 TD21 six-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine with an output of 240 kW at 2,200 rpm, producing a maximum torque of 1,300 Nm at the 1,200-1,600 rpm range, which is coupled to a 6 HP 602 S+ six-speed automatic gearbox. The vehicle can run at a maximum road speed of 110 km/h and has a maximum cruising range of 700 km. According to SVOS engineer, the vehicle can accelerate to 80 km/h within 30 seconds.
