FN Herstal one of the largest leader of small arms manufacturing presents at IDEX 2013, its Light deFNder® Remote Weapon Station designed, developed and manufactured by the Belgian Company. At IDEX 2013, Renault Trucks Defense displays the deFNder® Light equipped with a 7.62x51mm cal FN MAG® machine gun on its Sherpa SW (Station Wagon) vehicle.

The light deFNder™ system is the first in a series of such designs and is easily mounted on vehicles or installed in a static position to protect sensitive sites such as embassies, military facilities and secured border environments.

The light deFNder® feature unique elevation and depression angles, which is particularly critical in urban and irregular warfare. When the mission requires bringing a high volume of accurate fire on target while keeping the weapon operator safe and secure, the mission calls for the new FN Herstal deFNder™ Light Weapon Station.

Based on reliable and state-of-the-art technologies, the FN Herstal deFNder® Light Remotely Operated Weapon Station has been designed to be used for self-defense missions when mounted onto light, medium or heavy vehicles, perimeter defense missions (border control, protection of military compounds, official buildings, etc.).

The SHERPA is a family of 4x4 tactical and light armoured vehicles designed to provide light forces (infantry, paratroopers, marines, internal security…) with the best mobility/payload compromise of its category.

The « Station Wagon » (SW) is fully armoured and ideally suited for various tactical missions such as protected patrol and internal security. It is able to transport up to 6 soldiers and/or any weapon or mission system.
