IDEX 2021: EDGE launches digital transformation programme SAP


EDGE, the advanced technology group for defence and beyond, signed a contract with SAP, the market leader in enterprise application software, to accelerate its ongoing digital transformation efforts, and support the organisation’s growth. Through running on SAP’s solutions, EDGE will streamline its business processes and gain complete visibility and transparency across its entities, while benefitting from real-time decision-making from back-office to shop floor, from anywhere and at any time.

Through the collaboration with SAP, EDGE is set to achieve a wide range of business benefits including automation of its processes, an end-to-end streamlined process from Engineer to Order/Manufacture, Finance, Human Resources, Procurement, and Supply Chain, thereby putting in place a single platform for all its entities to collaborate securely. Furthermore, the digital platform will facilitate innovation and enable EDGE to leverage the power of data using artificial intelligence, machine learning, and robotic process automation across its operations in the medium-term (Picture source: EDGE)


Reda Nidhakou, Vice President, Strategic Programs at EDGE and Zakaria Haltout, Managing Director of SAP United Arab Emirates (UAE), inked the digital transformation agreement. The signing took place at the EDGE pavilion at the International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX 2021), underway at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) from 21 to 25 February. Thomas Zimmerer, Vice President – Digital Transformation, EDGE and Thomas Pfiester, SVP – Head of Services – EMEA South of SAP, were also present for the occasion.
