The International MaxxPro MPV/MRAP is an armored fighting vehicle designed by Navistar International's subsidiary International Military and Government LLC along with the Israeli Plasan Sasa, who designed and manufactures the vehicle's armor. The MaxxPro is based on the Navistar International Model 7000 truck chassis. The vehicle was designed to take part in the US Military's Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle program, led by the US Marine Corps, as well as a similar Army-led program, the Medium Mine Protected Vehicle. A total of 9,000 vehicles MaxxPro in many variants were delivered to the U.S. Army. In December 2007, the U.S. Marine Corps has ordered 1,500 MaxxPro to Navistar.

Armament |
The MaxxPro 4x4 MRAP is fitted with a one man turret, equipped with a 7,62 mm or 12,7 mm machine gun. The turret is mounted to the right side, top of the hull.
|
Protection |
The MaxxPro 4x4 MRAP is based on the Navistar International Model 7000 truck chassis. The vehicle is classified as a Category 1 (MRUV) Mine Resistant Utility Vehicle MRAP. Category 1 MRAP's are the smallest vehicles (by weight and size) of the 3 classes of MRAP vehicles. The MaxxPro utilizes a crew capsule with a V-shaped hull, mounted on an International WorkStar 7000 chassis. The V-hull deflects the blast of a land mine or improvised explosive device (IED) away from the vehicle to protect its occupants. Because the chassis is mounted outside the armored crew capsule, there are concerns that it will likely be destroyed in the event of an ambush, leaving the soldiers inside stranded. The incorporation of V-shaped design design has enabled MaxxPro to survive a 7kg land mine blast without any injuries.
|
Mobility |
The International Maxxpro 4x4 MRAP is powered by the MaxxForce D family engine model D8.7L16, Turbo inter-cooled, direct electronic injection and four stroke. MaxxForcesix-cylinder direct injection turbocharged diesel D8.7L16 is coupled to a fully automatic power shift gearbox Allison 3000 with a total of five speeds forward and one in reverse.
|
Accessories |
A winch is mounted to the front of the vehicle. The International MaxxPro can ford to a maximum depth of 0,91 m without preparation. The vehicle is also equipped with an NBC protection system.
