Armament |
This anti-aicraft system is armed with six cannons of 23mm, the same used on the Russian anti-aircraft gun ZU-23-2. There are two guns on the upper part and two on each side on the bottom. The ZU-23-6 can fired at a maximum cyclic rate of 6,000 rds per minute and practical rate of 600 rds/min.
|
Mobility |
The ZU-23-6 system uses Russian-made S-60 anti-aircraft gun four-wheel carriage. In firing position the wheels are raised off the ground and the carriage is supported on four screw jacks, one at the front and one at the rear of the carriage and one either side of the carriage on outriggers. During military parades where the system was unveiled, the ZU-23-6 was towed by a military truck.
|
Munitions |
As the ZU-23-6 system uses the same gun as the ZU-23-2 and we can think that it use the same ammunition. The ZU-23-2 can fired four types of 23 mm ammunition, the API, HE, HE-T, and APDS-T.
|
Accessories |
The ammo are fed by a conveyor belt from ammunition boxes. Each of the ammunition boxes are located on the side of the single auto cannon and contain 50 rounds.
