The order comprises a firm batch for 30 vehicles and a conditional batch for 20 more. A qualification phase will be conducted in 2012 and the customer will take delivery of the first trucks in 2013.

Thanks to their mobility, the Sherpa Medium 6x6 refuelling trucks, with their tank capacity of 5 m3, will be able to refuel all types of aircraft – including unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) – in rough terrain. Moreover, the technical capacities of the vehicle make it highly versatile and capable of adapting to the operational situation. This version of the Sherpa Medium can be transported on board C-130 and A400M aircraft, and can itself carry a total load of up to 12 tonnes.

The Sherpa Medium is already in service with the French Army, and is used as the carrier platform for the Caesar® artillery system, among other missions.
