The world's largest manufacturing facility for armoured vehicles will be established in Ras Al Khaimah, it was announced, January 16, 2011. The new 28,000 square metre state-of-the-art manufacturing facility will be launched by armoured vehicle manufacturers Streit Group and will include the production from design to final product of four of Streit Group's armoured vehicles.

The announcement was made on the sidelines of the Middle East's largest security exhibition and convention, Intersec 2012, inaugurated yesterday at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre under the patronage of Shaikh Mansour Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The exhibition, organised by Epoc Messe Frankfurt, saw a growth of 15 per cent from last year, and covers homeland security, aviation security, forensic laboratory techniques, civil defence equipment and IT security, with 908 companies from 52 countries taking part this year. It started yesterday and runs until tomorrow.
