Three pistols manufactured in Azerbaijan accepted as basic weapon for Defence Ministry.

Three pistol models manufactured by the Ministry of Defense Industry of Azerbaijan under the license of Turkish TISAS Company were accepted as basic arms in the Defense Ministry system, TISAS officials told journalists at a briefing, APA reports quoting Turkish newspapers.

According to the agreement signed by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense Industry the production of Zigana K and Zigana F models are licensed to be produced in Azerbaijan as know-how. 17 details of the pistols will be produced in Azerbaijan, 42 in Turkey. These pistols are named as “Zafar”, “Zafar-K” and “Inam”.

The fire resources of the pistols are determined as 25 000 bullets.

TISAS, which has 20% share in the Turkish domestic market, manufactures 12864 pistols in 2010. The company exports pistols to 30 countries, including the US, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Peru, Burkina Faso, Germany, Paraguay, Egypt, Ethiopia, Colombia, Italy and Iran.
