Venezuela takes delivery of more Russian-made Pechora 2M air defense missile system.
Boats continue to arrive at the port of Puerto Cabello, Venezuela, loaded with Russian-made weapons and military equipment for the Venezuelan armed forces. According to the local newspaper Notitarde, more than five boats arrived at the port during the month of January.

On the last boat arrived in the port, there would be a quantity of Russian military equipment, including the new air defense missile system Pechora 2M.

The Pechora 2M are destined for the Aerospace Defense Command Structure (CODAI Comando de la Defensa Aeroespacial Integral), which has received the first systems in 2011 to create the 5th Air Defence Brigade.

The Pechora-2M is a surface-to-air anti-aircraft short-range missile system designed for destruction of aircraft, cruise missiles, assault helicopters and other air targets at ground, low and medium altitudes. The Pechora-2M was developed and produced by Russian-Belarus Oboronitelniye Sistemi (Defence Systems).

A few days ago, the Venezuela also took delivery of self-propelled artillery howitzer 2S-19 MSTA-S Russian manufacturing.

Venezuela has also purchased other Russian-made air defense missile systems as the BUK-M2 and the S-300VM Antey-2500.
