Army of Armenia to be equipped soon with the Russian-made Iskander-M tactical missile.
Defense Minister of Armenia Seiran Oganian reports that in 2014 Armenian army will receive super precise long-range missile systems. Earlier, Armenian and Russian mass media reported frequently that Armenia received and was going to deploy Russian systems Iskander-M tactical missile soon.

Oganian also adds that the process of creation of unified Armenian-Russian air defense system will be completed soon too. He said, "We are currently working together in some directions and exchange information with Russian colleagues and we have a common command point. I think that in the near future we will be able to improve this system."

Iskander Missile SS-26 Stone is a short range tactical missile system developed and produced in Russia. In 2006, serial production of the Iskander-M Tactical Ballistic Missile System launched, and the system was adopted by the Russian army.

The Iskander-M cruises at hypersonic speed of 2100–2600 m/s (Mach 6–7) at a height of 50 km. The Iskander-M weighs 4615 kg, carries a warhead of 710–800 kg, has a range of 400–480 km, and achieves a CEP (Circular error probable) of 5–7 meters.
