Philippines looking to buy small arms from Czech Republic


Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte told the new Ambassador of Czech Republic that the Philippines is looking into acquiring small-arms from his country, without precising whether he meant assault rifles, light machine guns and/or pistols.

“We are looking into the acquisition of small-arms,” President Rodrigo Duterte said as he welcomed Jana Sediva, new ambassador of the Czech Republic, during the presentation of his letter of credentials in Malacañang. No further details have been communicated concerning what weapons might be envisaged. Sediva said that she is looking forward to further strengthen bilateral ties based on shared interests and mutual respect.
