Once fully activated in 2020, the brigade and its subordinate units will also include two Multiple Launch Rocket System battalions and a signal company. The 589th Brigade Support Battalion was originally activated in England in the last years of World War II and has been deactivated and reactivated in many places throughout its history. It was last inactivated in 2015 at Fort Hood, Texas.
