The Philippine Army has started the procurement of man-portable air-defense systems (MANPADS) and 155mm self-propelled howitzers. On Friday, Jan. 16, Army spokesperson Lt. Col. Ramon Zagala said the future assets would be delivered to the two new Army units recently activated: the 2nd Air Defense Artillery Battery and 2nd Field Artillery Battery.

High-ranking representatives of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine attended a demonstration show of new and modernized samples of various vehicles – armored and non-armored – intended for the armed forces. The working group was headed by Colonel Y.N. Gaidukevich, the Deputy Head of the AFU Central Vehicle Department of AFU Armament of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

The Russian Defense Ministry will begin procuring Lekalo 3BM44 armor-piercing sub-caliber shells in 2020. The troops will receive 2,000 of them by the end of the year. The shells will destroy modern armor at a distance of 3-5 kilometers, the Izvestia daily writes.

On January 17, 2020, the Belgian Council of Ministers authorized the Ministry of Defense to purchase 636 light trucks and 243 heavy trucks with armored cabs to replace its Unimog 1300L and Volvo N10 (6x4 and 6x6) respectively, a process planned for spreading from 2021 to 2026. The rest of the Volvo N10 heavy logistics trucks will be replaced over the period 2026-2030.

Announced only on 17 January on the French Ministry of Defence website, the Directorate General of Armament (DGA) received, on 18 December 2019, the first five Nerva-LG extended reconnaissance micro-robots. They have already been delivered to the Army Technical Section (STAT) for further evaluation in order to refine their concept of use before being deployed in the forces.
