The 14 High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles known as Humvees, night-vision equipment, army radios and PCs have been provided under the Coalition Support Fund of 10 million dollars.

The US Congress approved the fund for enhancing the special operation capabilities of the Hungarian army last spring.

Speaking at the event the ambassador said the United States considers Hungary a partner to rely on every time “the situation takes a serious turn”. She spoke in appreciation about the trustworthiness and sense of responsibility of Hungarian troops in fulfilling their duties which they have already proved in several peace-keeping missions and are proving today in Afghanistan.

Defence Minister Csaba Hende thanked the donation and said that those will greatly help the Hungarian army in trainings for serving in foreign missions, such as that of Afghanistan.
