Pakistan successfully tested nuclear-capable cruise missile Hatf-VII Babur
 

Pakistan on Tuesday, June 6, 2012, successfully tested its fifth nuclear-capable cruise missile Hatf-VII (Babur) having a range of 700 kilometres. The missile was launched from a state-of-the-art multi-tube Missile Launch Vehicle (MLV) which significantly enhances the targeting and deployment options of Babur Weapon System in both the conventional and nuclear modes.

Navistar defense win a contract to deliver anti-rocket propelled grenade kit for MaxxPro vehicle
 

Navistar Defense, LLC today received a contract for $59 million to deliver 1,357 rocket propelled grenade (RPG) net kits for International® MaxxPro® Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) units in Afghanistan. The order from the U.S. Army TACOM Life Cycle Management Command is considered an urgent buy.

Australian Minister of Defence has allocated budget to develop and test Hawkei protected vehicle
 

Australian Minister for Defence Stephen Smith and Minister for Defence Materiel Jason Clare today announced that the Government has allocated just over $38 million to further develop and test the next generation Hawkei Light Protected Mobility Vehicle. The Hawkei is a mobile, 7-tonne fighting vehicle that offers a high level of protection for the soldiers inside it.

Chinese Company NORINCO unveils new mini MRAP the 8M Joint Tactical Light Vehicle
 

The Chinese State Defence Company Norinco has unveiled its new light mine protected vehicle at the latest China International Exhibition on Police Technologies & Equipment Expo (CIEPE) in Beijing, 8M Joint Tactical Light Vehicle. Norinco is known outside of China for its high-tech defense products, some of which are adaptations of Russian equipment.

Pakistan increase of defence budget by nearly 10 percent for the fiscal year 2012-2013
 

Pakistan Friday, June 1, 2012, increased by nearly 10 percent the allocation for defense in its budget for fiscal 2012-13 (from July 2012 to June 2013) to 545 billion rupees (5.82 billion U.S. dollars). The budget documents presented in parliament showed a sum of 545 billion rupees had been allocated for the defense services, compared with 495 billion rupees earmarked in the fiscal year ending on June 30.

Poland launches a request for 118 LSV Light Strike Vehicle to be used in Afghanistan
 

The Polish Ministry of Defense has announced it is inviting offers from manufacturers to supply the Polish armed forces with 118 Light Strike Vehicles (LSVs). The four-wheel-drive vehicles are expected to carry a crew of at least three and weigh a maximum of 1.7 tons, the ministry’s Armament Inspectorate said in a statement.
