“There will be a considerable renewing of equipment and armament for the coastal forces and this year Bastion coastal missile defenses will be received from production,” Korolev said.

He added that S-400 missile complexes have already been deployed for the Northern Fleet’s anti-air defense, as well as some Pantsir-S systems in parts of the Arctic.

The system is designed for the destruction of various surface ships from an enemy's landing squadrons, convoys, carrier strike groups, as well as single vessels and land-based radiocontrast targets in conditions of intensive fire and electronic countermeasures. The system uses the P-800 Yakhont (SS-N-26) anti-ship cruise missile and has a maximum range of 300 km.

Each Bastion system is equipped with 36 cruise missiles as well as truck-mounted radar and other equipment.
