Russian communications units to receive R-149MA1 unified command and staff vehicle

"The equipment of the vehicles provides for rapid monitoring on electronic terrain maps of all the changes in the situation on the battlefield, positions of own and enemy forces, quickly make operational and tactical calculations, timely issue orders to subordinated units and fulfil many other functions to control the troops. The unique navigational Azimuth equipment automatically determines the coordinates of the vehicle in any point of the route," it said.

R-149MA1 unified command and staff vehicle is intended for officials control and communication provision at brigade level at stop and on move. UCSV R-149MA1 can also be applied in operative link during officials usage at advance formations control points for large units and units control in compliance with forces use strategy.

All the equipment of the vehicle is mounted on maneuverable highly-mobile light-armored undercarriage K1Sh1 which was created on the basis of BTR-80 armored personnel carrier. Besides upgraded technical characteristics, R-149MA1 has an air conditioner and comfortable chairs to create proper conditions for crew operations.
