The MGM-140 ATACMS is a surface-to-surface missile launched from the Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS), as well as the M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS). An ATACMS missile has a range of up to 300 kilometres.

This is a service life extension contract that will upgrade older ATACMS missiles. In addition, the customers will receive new production missiles. Poland said in February it planned to purchase the HIMARS and ATACMS. The Pentagon announced last August that Romania would receive the HIMARS.
