The facility, operated through the Kazakhstan Paramount Engineering (KPE) joint venture between Paramount Group and state-owned Kazakhstan Engineering, is now ready to produce the Arlan 4x4 armoured which is based on the Marauder APC but with some specific features according request of the Ministry of Defense of Kazakstan.

The new facility has now the capacity to produce 300 vehicles per year. Currently the factory employs 120 personnel but this is expected to grow to 200 over the coming months.

The general layout of the Arlan is very similar to Paramount Group Marauder but one the main difference is the use of two small windows at the front of the crew compartment in place of the large windscreen. The internal layout is also adapted to response to the needs of the customer in Kazakhstan.

At KADEX 2016, three main variants are showed including the APC version, the air defense vehicle and reconnaissance patrol vehicle. The APC version is fitted a remote weapon station SARP from the Turkish Company Aselsan. The turret is armed with an NSV 12.7mm heavy machine gun.

The Arlan air defense variant is fitted with a turret mounted on the roof of the vehicle which is armed with four Igla launcher tubes. The SA-18 Grouse or Igla or 9K38 is a Russian made man-portable infrared homing surface-to-air missile defence system (SAM/MANPAD). The SA-18 missile has a maximum range of 5,000 m and a maximum altitude of 3,500 m.
