The evacuation versions of the ALTV ambulance can carry up to four stretcher casualties with a two-man crew. While the medically equipped version only carries one casualty, treatment facilities (work surface, refrigerator, washbasin etc.) are available for a small medical team.

One of the other advantages of the
ALTV is its high mobility: as an all-terrain vehicle, the ALTV able to perform casualty evacuation missions in close proximity to troops in combat. Its speed (up to 160 km/h) allows it to operate with ease on civilian roads without hampering the flow of traffic, while its 1,600 km autonomy allows it to operate in isolated areas without logistic support. Finally, as it is air transportable, the ALTV ambulance is easy to deploy to theatres of operation.
