China to unveil a new 8x8 self-propelled anti-aicraft armoured vehicle with single 35mm cannon.
China has unveiled a new 8x8 anti-aircraft gun system equipped with a turret armed with one single 35mm automatic cannon. The vehicle is based on the Chinese-made ZBL09 8x8 armoured vehicle personnel carrier.

Last week, China has announced that it would increase its military budget for 2014 to almost $132 billion, a 12.2 percent rise over last year.

 Chinese armed forces would like to increase the military power with latest generation of military equipment especially in the air defense area.

According to our analysis of the first pictures release on Internet, the new Chinese anti-aircraft vehicle is equipped with modern opto-electronics to track and destroy aerial targets flow at low altitude.

A radar is mounted at the rear top of the turret.

According Chinese website, the 35mm anti-aircraft cannon has a maximum rate fire of 1,000 rds/min, and can hit a target at a maximum range up to 4,000 m.

The ZBL09 is a wheeled armoured infantry fighting vehicle designed and manufactured by the Chinese Defense Company NORINCO China North Industries Corp.

The ZBL-09 is motorised with water-cooled Diesel engine DEUTZ BF6M1015 CP coupled to a mechanical transmission with the synchronizer affording superior performance in tropical zone, desert and plateau.

The vehicle can run at maximum road speed of 100 km, with a maximum cruising range of 800 km.
