Originally, the 2S35 was supposed to be a unique concept of a twin-barreled self-propelled howitzer named "Koalitsiya-SV". This ambitious project has been cancelled but, in February 2014, the 2S35 project has been confirmed as active. It would be presented to the public for the first time at the Victory Day Parade in Moscow on May 9, 2015.
