"The R&D work to upgrade the Ratnik combat gear to the Ratnik-3 level is the same for the Army and the Airborne Force and has been carried out for more than a year," Timergazin said.

"The prototypes of the advanced combat gear will be tested. It will be delivered both to the Army and the Airborne Force after its serial production is launched," he added.

The electronic visor of the advanced Ratnik-3 combat gear will allow lasing targets for weapons.

"The Ratnik-3 combat outfit will include an electronic visor and an exoskeleton indeed. The electronic visor will guide weapons to targets with the use of a laser beam," the deputy commander said.Timergazin did not specify characteristics the new-generation combat gear’s exoskeleton would have.

The deputy commander said that the Airborne Force was receiving the Ratnik combat gear en masse. According to him, the outfit includes equipment, armor protection and advanced small arms that boost paratroopers’ firepower on the battlefield.
