Germany wants to protect the fragile progress made in Iraq. In that line of conduct, the Bundeswehr is set to expand its training program for Kurdish fighters to all security forces in Iraq. Training Iraqi Kurds is less sensitive than supplying assistance to Syrian Kurds but who can guarantee there aren't any know-how and weapons "transfer"?

French Company MBDA continues to market its new MMP Medium Range Missile for the international military market. During DIMDEX 2018, the International Maritime Defense Exhibition & Conference in Qatar, MBDA has presented a new light turret armed with one 12.7mm heavy machine gun and four anti-tank launchers unit for MMP missile, two on each side of the turret.

As part of a deal to establish a military base in the semi-autonomous region, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will train Somaliland security forces, Somaliland's president said on 15 February.

Fort Riley (Kansas) is the historical home of the oldest unit of the U.S. Army, the “Big Red One”, as the 1st Infantry Division is nicknamed. The 1st Battalion, 5th Artillery Unit, is out testing their newest cannon weapon system: the M109A7 155mm self-propelled howitzer.

The Danish government (‘Venstre’ (the Liberal Party), the Liberal Alliance and the Conservatives) and the Social Democrats, the Danish People’s Party and the Social-Liberal Party have reached the agreement regarding the Danish Defence for the period 2018-2023. In view of the new security political situation, the Parties agree to increase the annual Danish defence budget by DKK 800 million (€108 million) from 2018 with an increased trend to DKK 4.8 billion (€644 million) by 2023.

On March 13-15 Vice Minister of National Defence of Lithuania Giedrimas Jeglinskas observed tests of the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) in Bedford while on visit in the United Kingdom. Vice Minister also met with representatives of the UK Ministry of Defence and the Belgian Defense Directorate General for Material Resources and discussed challenges of adapting the JLTV for national needs and EU standards.

The British Defence Secretary has today announced a £3.7 million deal to equip the British Army’s next generation armoured vehicle with the latest in automated threat warning systems. Thales UK has signed a contract with General Dynamics Land Systems–UK for the installation of its Acusonic sensor, a vehicle-mounted acoustic shot detection system, on the £4.5 billion Ajax family of armoured fighting vehicles.

The U.S. Army has awarded Ceradyne, Inc., a 3M company, an additional $34 million to continue supplying its ballistic helmet of the future. The Integrated Head Protection System (IHPS) – which Popular Mechanics described as straight out of science fiction – uses advanced materials, an ultramodern design and add-on accessories to give soldiers greater comfort and advanced protection for modern missions. This brings Ceradyne’s total IHPS contract value to more than $52 million.

Endeavor Robotics has received a $9.2 million order to deliver additional battle-proven Small Unmanned Ground Vehicles (SUGVs) to the U.S. Marine Corps. The Minister for Defence of Australia has announced March 14, 2018, the decision to select the German Company Rheinmetall with its Boxer CRV 8x8 armoured vehicle for the purchase of 211 new Combat Reconnaissance Vehicles for the Australian Defence Force. The 211 vehicles will provide improved safety to Australian soldiers on deployment and on exercises around the world. They will boost mobility and firepower on the battlefield in the decades ahead.
