Ukrainian Armor company has started the delivery of Novator 4x4 armored vehicles to the National Guard of Ukraine under a State contract. The Novator is a light 4x4 armored vehicle fully designed and manufactured in Ukraine by Ukrainian Armor.

According to pictures released to the Facebook account of the Ukrainian government MVS.GOV.UA, Ukrainian Armour has performed successfully tested of its new Novator vehicle in December 2017.

The Novator is a light tactical vehicle based on a pickup model Ford F550 chassis. The design of the vehicle is divided in three main parts with the engine at the front, crew and troop compartment in the middle and cargo area at the rear. It can accommodate five military personnel with two seats at the front and three at the rear. According to Ukrainian Armor, the vehicle is fitted with armor that provides protection against firing of small arms 5.56mm caliber and artillery shell splinters. It has also a mine protection against hand grenades and unexploded artillery shell submunitions.

The Novator is motorized with a 6.7-liter V8 turbo diesel engine developing 300 HP. at 2,800 RPM. It can run at a maximum road speed of 140 km with a maximum cruising range from 700 to 1,000 km.

Standard equipment of the Novator for the Ukrainian National Guard includes radio communication system, night vision devices, automatic fire extinguishing system, a special dashboard camera and a semi-automatic tire-inflation system.
