SDLE joins resources with Spanish army to help fight coronavirus


SDLE has donated two 37 sqm of tents to the Spanish Military Emergency Unit (UME). To join forces to the fight that the Army is carrying out against the Coronavirus spread in Spain, SDLE has offered its technical, mechanical and logistical resources to give assistance when needed.

The 'Operation Balmis' launched by the Spanish Ministry of Defence is being crucial to control the effects caused by the virus spread. Almost 2,700 military personnel are deployed in 135 Spanish towns to reinforce security, provide logistical support for both tthe transport of sick and deceased people, as well as the distribution of medical equipment, disinfection works in streets, sanitary facilities, nursing homes and areas such as stations, airports or prisons, among others.

In the coming days, the field hospital that has been installed in the largest congress center in Madrid, with 5,500 beds, will receive a mobile Intensive Care Unit from the Air Force. Furthermore, the Army Air Vehicle Forces (FAMET) have transferred equipment to the General Command of Ceuta that will be delivered to the National Institute of Health Management.
