Control and fire coordination centres and equipment of logistics support and service, both vital for an efficient operation of an artillery battalion, will also be acquired.

The German Armed Forces will also transfer 4 Pzh2000 at no cost which will be used for training and instructing Lithuanian soldiers, logistics support and maintenance.

The contract of procurement of Pzh2000 is expected to be signed this year.

The experts have also agreed on the possibility to train artillery instructors of the Lithuanian Armed Forces at the Bundeswehr Artillery School in Idar-Oberstein.

Next meeting on this issue will be held in mid-June in Vilnius.

During a meeting in Vilnius, April 15, 2015, the German Federal Minister of Defence Dr Ursula von der Leyen and the Lithuanian Minister of Defense discussed the possibility for Lithuania to buy Panzerhaubitze PzH 2000 self-propelled artillery systems and Germany had given a positive answer.
