Palantir landed a USD222M software contract with SOCOM
Palantir Technologies' software analytics solution has been in use with USSOCOM since 2009.

The company will perform the necessary works at different locations abroad and across continental US. The anticipated period of performance includes the base year plus three more years as an option.

It is a sole-source awarded contract according to a US government’s notice (H92222-16-R-ASIF) published in 14 March 2016. USSOCOM explained that it had a requirement for an ASIF software with advanced analytics capabilities in support of intelligence analysis and production.

Given that Palantir’s software had been in use with USSOCOM since 2009, it met the legacy requirements for ASIF, while supporting operations and analysis for deployed units in the current areas of operations. Therefore, according to the government notice, any other product would require substantial integration and testing in addition to training, fielding to operational units and substantial duplication of cost followed by delays.
