Otokar presents Cobra II 4x4 armoured Load Carrier variant at EFES 2018


Turkish Company Otokar presents a new variant of its Cobra 2 4x4 armoured vehicle in cargo variant during the EFES 2018 military exercise that takes place in the Aegean province of Izmir, Turkey. As a part of the exercise, more than 35 Turkish defense companies will present latest products and innovations.

The Turkish Company Otokar develop and manufacture a full range of tactical and armoured vehicle including 4×4 to 8×8 wheeled and tracked vehicles, and main battle tanks. The Company is a global market leader along with being the Turkish Armed Forces’ main land systems supplier. It has supplied more than 28,000 military vehicles to almost 50 independent users within 30 countries.

The Cobra 2 is the latest generation of 4x4 armoured vehicle produced and manufacturer by the Turkish Company Otokar. The vehicle was unveiled in May 2013 during the defense exhibition IDEF in Istanbul, Turkey. The Cobra 2 was developed based on the previous version of the Cobra which was jointly developed by Otokar and AM General.

The new Cobra II Load Carrier armoured vehicle has been designed to be carry military equipment up to 2.5 tons, the front of the vehicle is fitted with an armoured cabin while the rear part of the vehicle as cargo area at the rear.

The vehicle has the same level of protection for the crew againt ballistic and mine threats. It offers protection against firing of small arms 7.62mm caliber and artillery shell splinters.

The top of the crew compartment can be fitted a weapon station armed with one 7.62mm or 12.7mm machine gun. Smoke grenade dischargers are also mounted on the roof of the crew cabin. The Cobra 2 Load Carrier can run at a maximum speed of 110 km/h with a maximum cruising range of 700 km.
