The Belarusian defense industry has begun rebuilding Kalashnikov assault rifles and light machineguns in order to enhance their performance, a source from the holding Belspetsvneshtekhnika (BSVT), the country`s largest arms manufacturer, told TASS.

Members of the British elite Special Boat Service (SBS) have allegedly joined UK registered oil tankers sailing to the Persian Gulf, The Sun reports. Once there, they will be tasked with monitoring Iranian military activity around the island of Qesham which is home to the country's naval gunboats, claims the Sunday Express.

Raytheon was awarded a $383,973,802 modification to Foreign Military Sales (Romania) contract for new production hardware, upgrade kits and spares, with an estimated completion date of Sept. 30, 2023. Fiscal 2019 other funds in the amount of $383,973,802 were obligated at the time of the award. U.S. Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is the contracting activity.

Thielmann WEW has received an order to deliver a self-contained 10,000 liter (2,642 US gallons) water transport and dispensing unit for the Croatian armed forces. The order, placed in February 2019, will see Thielmann WEW deliver a single unit for testing and evaluation by the Croatian land forces. Delivery will take place by the end of 2019.

The U.S. Army awarded Lockheed Martin a $10.5 million contract to develop a new modular pod for Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS) rockets. The new pods will replace the depleting inventory of M26 rocket pods and support the increased production of GMLRS rounds.

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, St. Petersburg, Florida, was awarded a $92,400,000 modification to Foreign Military Sales (Iraq) contract for 120mm munition high explosive with tracer tank ammunition cartridges. Work locations and funding will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of Oct. 16, 2022. U.S. Army Contracting Command, New Jersey, is the contracting activity.

Russia’s Defense Ministry has decided not to buy a Russian new generation sniper rifle, called the Tochnost. According to topwar.ru, the Tochnost sniper rifle, based on the ORSIS T-5000 model, will not be accepted into service and purchased by the Russian armed forces.

Taking place in the north-east of Estonia, the exercise brings together over 9,000 troops, among them thousands of Estonian conscripts, reservists, active servicemen and hundreds of vehicles from 15 NATO countries and partners. Spring Storm started on 6 May and will carry on until 17 May 2019.

The Russian state Company for arms export, Rosoboronexport has signed contracts worth 5.2 billion U.S. dollars since the start of 2019. The Hubert commando is one of the seven commandos of the French Navy, considered as the most prestigious of them and as the most selective and complete unit of special forces of the whole French Army. Made up of combat swimmers, the Hubert commando specializes in underwater action and in maritime counter-terrorism actions. Two of them were killed in the night of 9 to 10 May whike releasing hostages in Burkina Faso.

The Russian Northern fleet completed the arming of the electronic warfare (EW) center. Its long-range Murmansk-BN and Krasukha stations will be soon complemented by the latest Divnomorye systems. Together with Murmansk-BN in Kamchatka they will control the whole Northern Sea Route. EW systems can jam communications, navigation and control of warships, submarines and aircraft that violate the border, the Izvestia daily writes.
