The contract to supply missile system Pantsir-S1 to United Arab Emirates is in the fulfilment stage
The contract to supply Russian Pantsir-S1 missile and gunnery systems to the United Arab Emirates army is in the fulfilment stage, the deputy director of the Federal Service for Military- Technical Cooperation, Vyacheslav Dzirkaln, told the media at the Dubai Airshow.

"Delivery is taking place in accordance with the contracts and timeframes agreed with the UAE," Dzirkaln said. There are no complaints from the Emirates, he went on: "If issues arise, they are resolved quickly."

According to earlier reports the UAE was the Pantsir-S1's first customer, signing a deal for 50 systems worth 734m dollars. Thirty-six systems were later bought by Syria and then Algeria bought 38 for 500m dollars.

The Pantsir-S1 is an air defense missile / gun system designed to protect vital small-size and point military and industrial targets and land forces units to reinforce the air defense groupings responsible for the protection of troops and installation against precision-guided air attack from low and extreme low altitudes

Russia started delivering Pantsir-S1's to the UAE in 2009.
