Morocco to buy TOW launchers and missiles
The US State Department has approved a Foreign Military Sale to Morocco, for new anti-tank systems and missiles from Raytheon, according to the Defense Security Cooperation Agency. The estimated value of the possible sale is USD157 million and the next step is to receive Congress’ approval.

The Moroccan request of Major Defence Equipment (MDE) includes the following:

  •         600 TOW2A RF (Radio Frequency) missiles (BMG-71E-4B-RF);
  •       7 TOW2A, RF (BGM-71E-4B-RF) Fly-to-Buy Lot Acceptance Missiles; 
  •       300 M220A2 TOW Launchers.

    The contract will also include missile support; government-furnished equipment; technical manuals; spare parts; tools and test equipment; training; US Government technical and logistical support; and other associated services. The new procurement is part of Moroccan Army’s modernization plan, aiming at countering the jihadist threat.
